Terms & Policies

Will the things I discuss in therapy be kept private?

Confidentiality is a sacred part of psychology's code of ethics. As a psychologist, I understand that for you to feel comfortable talking about private and revealing information, you will need a safe place to talk about anything you'd like, without fear of that information leaving the room. I take your privacy very seriously.

Laws are also in place to protect your privacy. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) contains a privacy rule that creates national standards to protect individuals' medical records and personal health information, including information about psychotherapy and mental health.

At your first visit, you will be given written information explaining privacy policies and how your personal information will be handled.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

It is expected that 24 hours notice will be provided prior to cancellation of a previously scheduled appointment.  Otherwise, full fee for that appointment will be charged.
